Analysis of biogenic fuels according to established quality assurance systems
When substituting fossil fuels with renewable biogenic fuels, the following conditions, apply:
- The producer must be able to manufacture a biogenic fuel with defined and consistent properties.
- The consumer must be able to obtain a fuel that meets their requirements and whose quality is specified within defined limits.
- The sustainability of the production of biogenic fuels must be ensured.
In the context of "renewable energy and CO₂ neutrality," a wide range of potential biogenic fuels are currently being evaluated against these requirements.
Eurofins Environment Testing laboratories conduct inspections of biogenic solid fuels (e.g., wood pellets, wood briquettes, wood chips) to verify whether the defined requirements regarding raw material origin, production processes, product characteristics, and quality assurance are met.
Eurofins Environment Testing laboratories support the entire process — from sampling and analysis to complete characterisation of solid biogenic fuels. This naturally also includes verification of emission limit values.
