Advanced analysis

With world-leading dioxin expertise

The analysis of dioxins and furans is highly complex, requiring technically advanced methods such as isotope dilution (2x HRGC/HRMS). Laboratories must meet stringent regulatory standards and perform a broad scope of evaluation testing, including PCBs, PBDEs, heavy metals, pesticides, and PAHs—all of which demand specialised expertise and precision instrumentation. Adding to this complexity is the wide variety of matrices involved, from fish oils, cod liver oil, and omega-3 products, to APIs, pharmaceuticals, and biologics raw materials—each with unique testing requirements. Without the right technical capabilities and scientific insight, the risk of costly delays and production setbacks increases significantly.

For many years, the Eurofins BioPharma Product Testing network of laboratories has been dedicated to the analysis of dioxins, PCBs and other persistent organic pollutants (POPs), making it one of the world's leading dioxin laboratory. We combine state-of-the-art technical equipment with the expert knowledge required for high-precision testing, all under one roof.

Our methods are built on US-EPA standards, ensuring regulatory alignment. The analysis of dioxins and furans is performed using the isotope dilution method (via 2x HRGC/HRMS) for accurate and reliable quantification at ultra-trace levels. Our GMP laboratory operates under rigorous compliance frameworks. It is subject to cGMP inspections by the US FDA and by German authorities in accordance with § 64 of the German Medicines Act (AMG).
