Eurofins Central Laboratory is a turnkey provider which deploys lean, globally standardized processes, enabling high quality specimen collection kits to be distributed worldwide. Eurofins Central Laboratory uses wholly-owned Kit Packing facilities in Louisville, KY, USA, Oosterhout, the Netherlands and Shanghai, China.
Each year, Eurofins Central Laboratory produces and ships more than 1 million specimen collection kits to investigator sites worldwide.
To ensure the safe return of these human specimens—whether ambient, cooled, or shipped on dry ice—Eurofins Central Laboratory partners with preferred couriers. These couriers are carefully selected based on the country and the specific service required, providing the most reliable and efficient solution. By working with a limited number of trusted partners, we streamline operations and secure volume discounts, delivering added value to our customers.
Moreover, by implementing a single, universal logistics operating procedure—regardless of individual laboratory testing requirements—we significantly reduce the workload for investigators and site staff.

Eurofins Central Laboratory operates a full-service, in-house sample repository across all four of its global testing locations. This infrastructure supports every stage of the sample lifecycle, from secure handling and logistics to short- and long-term storage, shipment to third-party laboratories, and documented sample destruction.
Controlled environments tailored to specific temperature requirements—ambient, refrigerated, or frozen—ensure optimal preservation of sample quality for both immediate and extended research needs. Coordinated logistics enable seamless transfers when specialized testing is required, while strict compliance standards guarantee security and traceability throughout the process.
To provide complete transparency and control, Eurofins utilizes its SIMS (Sample Inventory Management System) Chain of Custody Information System, offering real-time visibility into sample status and location across all repositories. Every movement—from initial receipt through analysis, storage, and onward destination—is logged and traceable, ensuring full regulatory compliance and data integrity.
