The Eurofins Assurance network of companies is pleased to announce that it has obtained further approval from Worldwide Responsible Accredited Production (WRAP) as a Monitoring Firm in Indonesia to support buyers’ and suppliers’ commitments on ethical production in apparel and footwear industries there.
WRAP stands as one of the largest independent certification programs globally, dedicated to fostering safe, legal, humane, and ethical manufacturing practices worldwide, with a focus on the apparel and footwear industry. Over 3,500 facilities are WRAP-certified globally, representing a total workforce of 3.25 million workers.
Indonesia plays a significant role in apparel and footwear production within the global supply chain. According to Statista, apparel and footwear export amounts for 1.53 million usd and 6.44 billion usd in 2023 for Indonesia respectively, making it the 14th largest apparel and footwear exporting countries in the world.
By adhering to WRAP's 12 Principles, buyers and suppliers align their efforts towards implementing consistent social compliance assessment standards. Achieving WRAP certification allows buyers to recognize and suppliers to demonstrate their dedication to and accomplishments in social compliance.
The recent additional WRAP accreditation awarded to Eurofins Assurance in Indonesia, in addition to various approved countries across Asia and Europe, will better support ethical and responsible manufacturing practices worldwide.
