Definition
The NDF digestibility percentage indicates the proportion of the cell wall that is digestible.
NDF is composed of cellulose (partially digestible) and hemicellulose (completely digestible).
A high NDF digestibility percentage ensures that the cow can utilise the feed material very well and has a positive impact on milk production.
Silages with high NDF digestibility also have higher total Digestibility Coefficient of Organic Matter %.
