Acid Detergent Fibre (ADF)

Definition

Acid detergent fiber (ADF) captures the amount of cellulose and some of the lignin of a plant.

Nutritional relevance

Cellulose is partially useful as an energy source for animals. Lignin, however, cannot be used by the animal.
