Outside EU

Outside EU

Please note that sending plant material from outside the EU or from Canary Islands is subject to strict guidelines due to EU phytosanitary rules. Failing to follow these guidelines may lead to serious delays or even destruction of your sample.

Before sending plant material to Eurofins Agro, you need to establish what kind of paperwork is needed for your shipment.

Use this flowchart to determine the necessary paperwork.

Use this list to check whether your plant species is either forbidden, restricted, or not-restricted.

Fill in this packing list with all the required information.

This document will be regularly updated according to the current regulations of the Netherlands Food and Consumer Product Safety Authority (NVWA). For plant species or plant parts not included in this list, or any other questions, you can contact us.

Plant DOIV document

It is important to completely remove any soil particles from your plant material. Soil and plant samples require separate permits and can never be mixed. Combining soil and plant material in one shipment may result in destruction of your samples.
For chemical analysis, we are only allowed to receive plant material free of bacteria, fungi, viruses, or nematodes. Please do not send diseased or symptomatic material.

You are not allowed to send plant material with (a suspicion of) European Quarantine (Q) organisms. Check this website

Please note that some countries require a phytosanitary certificate for export, regardless of any permit provided by Eurofins Agro. This document is provided by your national plant protection organization.

Fertilisation

If a plant lacks a certain nutrient, it will display deficiency symptoms. Eurofins can analyze plant material for deficiency, to see exactly what is lacking, and what the plant needs. To have this analysis performed, you can send us plants material from the crops listed.  Crop list

If, according to the table above, you are not allowed to send in your material, please use the contact form below to investigate the possibilities.

Please mention:

* Name of the crop
* Latin name of the crop

Plant pathology

When your plants are diseased or show abnormalities, you will want to find out the cause as quickly as possible. Eurofins can give you a fast and reliable diagnosis and provide advice on the necessary measures to take.

Eurofins holds the Plant DOIV document, which is issued by the Netherlands Food and Consumer Product Safety Authority (NVWA). You need to add the certificate to your samples to ensure smooth handling at customs.

Note:
Crop samples containing soil from outside the EU are treated as soil and must always be provided with a permit.

If possible, contact a local Eurofins laboratory or your local agent for more information prior to sending samples
