Diverse Client Base
Our expertise lies in conducting analyses of human DNA. We not only serve private clients with paternity tests, but also partner with youth welfare offices, public health departments, courts, the police, and state and federal criminal investigation offices. All parentage reports are prepared by our forensic experts. We have a state-of-the-art laboratory and highly qualified staff, specialising in DNA forensics, paternity tests, and kinship tests.
Sustainability
Our highly automated laboratory is a key support for DNA analysis in criminal cases for the police, state criminal investigation offices, and public prosecutors, as well as for private and court-ordered paternity tests. However, it also generates waste such as solvents, used sample containers, pipette tips, and gloves. Therefore, we continuously review our processes, seek more sustainable alternatives, and optimise our methods to constantly reduce water and chemical consumption and the amount of waste produced.
We place great importance on transparent laboratory processes and regularly undergo comprehensive external audits.
Accredited Testing Laboratory
Our DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025:2018 accreditation for forensic genetics covers parentage testing, DNA trace analysis, and reference samples. Since 2005, our laboratory has been audited annually by the German Accreditation Body (DAkkS) and is recognised as a testing laboratory.
Furthermore, our Information Security Management System (ISMS) is accredited according to DIN EN ISO/IEC 27001:2022.
GEDNAP Proficiency Testing Programme of the German Society for Legal Medicine (DGRM)
For over 10 years, we have successfully participated in the GEDNAP (German DNA Profiling) proficiency testing programme of the DGRM. This external quality control process is documented by GEDNAP certificates. All participants receive three reference samples and four artificially created traces for analysis. They are required to solve a case that could arise in daily practice. This involves the presentation of all marker systems, the identification and evaluation of mixed profiles, and the assignment of comparison profiles.
We participate annually in the German Society for Parentage Testing (DGAB, since 2004) and the English Speaking Working Group of the International Society for Forensic Genetics (ISFG, since 2006) proficiency testing programmes.
We are accredited by the UK Ministry of Justice to conduct court-ordered paternity tests ("Eurofins Medigenomix has been accredited by the Ministry of Justice as a body that may carry out parentage tests directed by the civil courts in England and Wales under section 20 of the Family Law Reform Act 1969").
